  • Joanthan Reeves Tax Matters

    Jonathan Reeves ATT

    Jonathan began his career in personal tax with HMRC in 1992 before moving into practice and becoming a member of the ATT. In 2008, Jonathan founded Tax Matters, where he continues to offer high-net-worth individuals a personalised approach to managing their tax affairs. With over 30 years of experience, he specialises in Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax, and Succession Planning, along with Trusts, Estates, Foreign Income, Investments, and UK/Overseas Property Taxes.

    Jonathan is committed to providing clients with tailored tax solutions, ensuring they meet compliance requirements while identifying effective planning opportunities. His long-standing expertise, coupled with his leadership of Tax Matters, has earned him a trusted reputation for delivering exceptional client service and tax guidance.

  • Steph Usher ACCA

    Steph began her career in audit at PwC (PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP), where she honed her attention to detail and gained her professional ACCA qualification.  She has since gained valuable experience across several organisations, holding roles in both management accounting - enhancing her understanding of daily business operations, and financial accounting – delivering analysis and reporting to inform and enable the Management Team.

    Since joining Tax Matters in 2021, Steph has built strong relationships with her clients, helping them manage their businesses in a tax-efficient manner while ensuring they meet deadlines with peace of mind. She takes great pleasure in getting to know her clients and exploring strategies to foster business growth.

  • Jon Golding ATT, TEP

    Jon is an experienced tax professional with a diverse background spanning the Big 4 accountancy firms, the Inland Revenue, independent practices, and advising private clients and trusts. He specialises in providing tailored tax planning solutions for individuals and businesses, with expertise in expatriate tax, inheritance planning, and international tax issues.

    Jon holds both the ATT and TEP qualifications and spent 18 years as a Senior Tax Writer and Editor at LexisNexis Butterworths. He authored Tolley’s Inheritance Tax publication and co-authored Living and Working Abroad and Advising British Expats for Claritax. Jon continues to contribute articles to prominent tax publications, including Taxation Magazine

  • Sabinah Robinson ATT, MAAT

    Sabinah is a highly qualified tax professional with over 10 years of experience in private client tax, having held key roles at Deloitte and Evelyn Partners. She holds the ATT qualification and specialises in Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax, and Estate Planning, offering expert advisory services to clients with complex tax needs, including non-residents and expatriates. Throughout her career, Sabinah has developed a deep understanding of both personal and business tax matters, delivering tailored solutions to help clients manage intricate financial situations.

    Her strategic, detail-focused approach ensures each client receives bespoke advice to maximise tax efficiency and minimise liabilities. Sabinah’s strong client focus and proven track record make her an invaluable member of the Tax Matters team. She is committed to providing clarity and confidence, helping clients navigate even the most complex tax decisions with confidence and peace of mind.

  • Carly Smith ACA

    Carly became a member of the ICAEW in 2004 whilst working at PwC (PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP).  During her career she has also worked for BT Plc and France Telecom where she worked as a finance business partner.  This developed her keen commercial awareness delivering analysis and insight to key decision-makers.

    Since joining Tax Matters in 2016, Carly has worked with SMEs to provide a fractional CFO service – providing advice on tax efficient profit extraction, shareholder splits, forecasting and scenario-analysis as well as handling all tax compliance affairs, book-keeping and preparing statutory accounts. 

    Carly prides herself on building strong client relationships and thrives on being part of their team and assisting them in realising their goals.

  • Daniel Marquis ATT Part Qualified

    Daniel began his career in personal tax in 2014 at Brian Alfred, and then more recently as a Senior Personal Tax Advisor at Arnold Hill & Co LLP.  He gained over 10 years’ experience working with a wide range of clients including high-net-worth individuals, non-domiciled and non-resident individuals. 

    Daniel joined the Tax Matters team in 2025.   He plays a key role in helping clients prepare for the upcoming Making Tax Digital (MTD) changes, particularly those with rental property income affected by the new rules.

    He is a valuable support to our personal tax clients across compliance and advisory matters. 

    Daniel takes a practical, down-to-earth approach and is focused on delivering clear, reliable advice. He is committed to helping clients manage their tax affairs with confidence, whatever changes the UK tax system may bring
